  8. My revolution begins with what I change inside. Breaking the silence, breaking the self-imposed oppression and preconceived notions of what people tell us we are supposed to be. My revolution is about rewriting myself, unsaying the said words while filling the void with MY voice, and allowing it to be heard so that it can help other people become aware – and they can start their own revolution! Change happens when we cast away the lie that we are nothing, and begin to realize our own individual and unique power – that one person can make a difference. That one person can change the world. Why can’t that person be you? …and me?

  9. I want to speak out against Fifty Shades of Grey, which is now in theatres. The books normalize and romanticize domestic abuse. The book also grossly misrepresents the BDSM lifestyle. In many cases, Ana withdraws consent, yet Grey continues. This is rape. The mind games he plays with her aren’t romantic. They aren’t cute. They aren’t BDSM. They’re emotional abuse. I don’t want women who are in potentially abusive relationships to think that the story of Anastasia and Grey are anything to aspire to. In the end, they take their fucked up lives and try and correct it with the help of their friends and family. This is NOT the norm. Abusive relationships do not typically end with happy ever after, and no woman should stay in an abusive relationship because she is hopeful that it will change. Especially if she gleans false hope from this book series.
